A well attended and enjoyable annual 6-a-side took place this Bank Holiday.
The final was a very close affair between Speldhurt and Bidborough with both teams finishing on 69 runs! A bowl off was deemed necessary this year to decide the winners. Speldhurst romped home 5 - 1.
A very young Groombridge team - with a eye on the future at GCC - reached the semi finals but could not chase down a good total by Bidborough.
A big thank you to all those that went the extra mile to make this event a success for the players and spectators alike. Particular thanks go to Maggie and Terry Woolgar, Jill and David Woolgar and our scorer all day David Robson. In addition, GCC and the event cannot succeed without refreshment and raffle donations - so thank you.
To those that gave their day to selling and making our refreshments so saleable, To bar helpers, led by Amish, and those stalwarts willing to help clear the ground, drink the final beer barrel!!, .......... and clean the Pavilion 'again'.....

Saturday 1st XI: Away Vs Chiddingstone. 1.00 pm start.
1) Players to meet at Groombridge at 12.00 pm for SHARP DEPARTURE!!!!!!!
