 | John was from a Groombridge family, and still has several relatives in the village. He eventually moved to Hawkenbury. In the days when a winning score on our ground was probably in the region of 150 John was a lower order bat, a wicket keeper of great enthusiasm, a committee member and officer of the club for a number of years. John also chaired the committee specially formed to deal with the bicentenary and was another member who was never missing from, what in those days, were regular working parties. |
